We are overjoyed that Hannah Lowe’s The Kids (Bloodaxe Books, 2021) is the winner of the 2021 Costa Book of the Year award!

Our This Is Who We Are mentoring programme is live between January and March. As part of the programme, Kath Melbourne, Australian-based arts consultant and Melanie Abrahams, UK-based arts curator and producer, will mentor 30 artists, producers & creative professionals.

Based in Sydney but soon relocating to the UK, Frances is one of Australia’s most talented young singer-songwriters and piano players. Her jazz-influenced music has a growing adult contemporary following based on Frances’ unique sound combined with engaging melodies, harmonies and lyrics.

Frances’ current album ‘Beautiful World’ was recently released in Australia by ABC Music and will soon be released in Japan by Universal Music. The album was produced by ARIA award winner Chong Lim AM (John Farnham, Olivia Newton-John). Songs from Beautiful World earned Frances five nominations across multiple categories at this year’s Australian Songwriters Association Awards.

Paula Abood is a community cultural development practitioner, writer and educator. She has worked with diverse communities in capacity building projects across Western Sydney for 30 years. She has experience in writing for performance, radio, publications and film.

In 2013, Paula was awarded the Australia Council’s Ros Bower Award for lifetime achievement in community arts and cultural development practice.

We were deeply saddened by the passing of Jean ‘Binta’ Breeze in July 2021. As her agent for many years, we had the pleasure to know her well and to have collaborated and toured with her on a range of events, mentoring programmes and mental health and wellbeing projects.
